Most NFL scouts were only at the Liberty Bowl on September 16 to see how UCLA quarterback and potential #1 overall pick Josh Rosen would perform. However, these scouts left with Rosen’s draft stock lower and Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson’s through the roof. Ferguson threw an astounding 6 touchdown passes, with 2 being to redshirt senior Anthony Miller, who is a CBHS alum. This game was an offensive shootout, with the 2 teams combining for over 1,100 yards and 93 points. However, through a strong defensive effort in the 4th quarter, Memphis topped the 25th ranked team in the country and gained national recognition and praise on ESPN.
